And then we wake up in a world without Steve Jobs…he pasted on his life in August writing a letter on the Apple legacy and how they (this Apple team) can keep Apple alive! ironically Steve Jobs passes away after the ‘let’s talk iPhone’ event….as he’s saying: “ok guys keep it up, a job well done. It’s safe to close the door…”
I’ll remember him as one of the big influencers of PC era, who creative ideas where always ahead of time. His vision on business was unique. His complete integration of hardware and software made Apple the NeXT brand to be. He made the switch into the web world, creating one of the most viral brands online ever (up untill now)….
Will Apple keep this up….yes if they stay foolish and creative. They have to be tot keep his legacy alive!

When I saw this message posted on Facebook by one of my friends, I was a bit shocked.
Despite not knowing him in detail or personally, one had always a precise picture in mind when hearing his name: THE ambassador of Apple….of the iPod, the iPhone and all these innovative products.
And when typing his name into Google you get about 1.470.000.000 results in only 0,09 seconds…. So this was really big news not only for the “digital crowd”.
I hope that his follower Tim Cook will be able to replace him, or at least to keep up its success…
One step back, which led to a lot of disappointment of the Apple-fanatics just happened…. with the launch of the iPhone 4S instead of a new 5th generation.
I think that was already a small side below for his position and immediately “Apple Inc.’s stock lost $2.10, or 0.6 percent, dipping to $372.50 on Monday after the company revealed the newest iPhone model, the 4S.” [huffingtonpost.com]
We will see if Apple can succeed with its new “low price”-strategy and can win more clients rather than losing the old, loyal ones with this change of mind…..
…and I am pretty sure that Tim Cook sooner or later will have the thoughts: “What Would Jobs Do?!”
Apple said “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives”. More tributes have been made by world leaders, technology company bosses and unknown people. Barack Obama (US President) said that “The world had lost a visionary”. Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook founder) thanks Mr Jobs for “showing that what you build can change the world”. Even his main competitors, this is, the heads of others leading technology companies such as Microsoft or Samsung, have paid tribute to him. Bill Gates (Microsoft boss) said “Mr Jobs would be felt for many generations to come”.
From my point of view this is all true. Steve Jobs has changed our lives forever. Could we imagine our lives without Smartphone’s, for example? The Iphone was the smartphone that created a new way to use a mobile device. Iphone gave you internet to your pocket and it created a whole new industry. It was a product available for the mass consumption.
From him I specially remember his speech at the graduation ceremony in Stanford. I was in my “Human Resources” class when our teacher showed us this video. We discussed some issues of the video like “The only way to do great work is to love what you do” or “You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect the dots looking backward”. However the one that impress me the most and I could not forget was “No one wants to die (…) death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it and that is as it should be, because Death is the best invention of Life”.
The CEO of Sony said “The digital age has lost its leading light”…my question is, who is going to be the “next digital leading light”?
…so “The world is immeasurably better because of Steve”.
When I read about this, I was checking my Twitter account, somewhere around 00.45 CET. And I really must say, this piece of news shocked me. Also, like stated above, I didn’t really knew/follow the man throughout his life, but still.. the name “Steve Jobs”, well.. he’s an icon, and for some amongst us : a God !
It’s only the last few years that I saw this man as a genius, and an innovative, somewhat stubborn, but correct, and also world-changing (in terms of IT, etc.. (also music) ) person.
I felt quite upset, and didn’t know where to put the feelings I was experiencing at that moment.
It put me (and also some friends, who I was in the car with) in a ‘wtf’ moment (forgive my language) – and yes.. he had been sick for quite some time, but news like this is always like a smack in the face.
I really hope that he made some sort of legacy in which he explains to the new Apple staff, what he would’ve done in the future. And, ofcourse, every decission in the future is being influenced by things that’ll happen in the future, things that Jobs wasn’t aware about. But I still hope that he left us some of his future plans. Just as a foundation for Apple’s future moves.
I also agree with something said above (well, slightly different).. I’m 110% sure that some future problems at Apple will be solved with “What would Steve Jobs have done”
I must say that I really like the new “low(er)-price” strategy stated by Apple, the only concern I have is : will it also translate itself into the Belgian market?
The amazing digital track record of Steve Jobs!
Thanks to him, the digital world became available for everybody. He created technology that was easy in design and also easy to use.
Steve Jobs was also the mental coach of Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook. In the last 20 years, he changed our social life drastically.
We are now able to work with computers in the office or at home. We can download music via ITunes or listen to it via iPod. Computers became smaller and more convenient with the arrival of iPad. We are now using Smartphones and IPhones to connect with friends or for business activities in an easy way.
Although we have lost a specialist in revolutionary technology Steve Jobs will always remain in my mind. I’m looking forward to the launch of the new iPhone 4& 5 in Belgium. I doubt if our digital-world will be developed in the same speed as the last decennia.
It’s a pity I never met Steve Jobs personally as I would like to say : “Thanks Steve for everything you have accomplished for digital humanity, you changed the world in a positive social way! “
Although we all saw it coming, it still was a huge shock when I heard the news on the radio.
My first thought was: Will Apple continue to be as innovative as they always have been without there brilliant mind, Steve Jobs? Ofcourse, that answer will have to wait until the iPhone 5 comes out.
In my mind I already saw the people of Windows laughing in their fists although I had heard that Bill Gates felt sorry for the loss of Steve Jobs.
In the class of conversation management last friday, Peter Decuypere Showed us a short movie about Steve Jobs giving a speach to graduated students of Stanford University.
Although I knew Steve Jobs as a brilliant mind, I never cared to take look at his background story. I was really amazed when I heard in that movie that Steve never graduated from highschool! He only followed the courses he was interested in.
And with that knowledge and his brilliant mind he created a brand that has no equal.
I really hope Apple will carry forth the work of Steve Jobs with succes, but as the title says: this can only be reached by “staying foolish and creative”.

I woke up, took my iPad, and like I do every morning, I opened Safari. On Safari, I saw a big picture of Jobs. “Steve Jobs, 1955-2011”, while I was expecting a big advertisement of the iPhone 4s. I touched the screen, and I saw the following text:
‘Apple has lost a visionary…’
I didn’t knew him personally, but I was shocked, and thinking, ‘this isn’t true’.
Steve was a visionary. He was a perfectionist, but don’t we all want perfection when we buy such an expensive smartphone as the iPhone, or when we pay for a MacBook? I just bought a new iPod and when I buy something from Apple, I know I buy quality. I think it’s the perfectionism from Steve Jobs that made from a small Apple a big ‘Apple-tree’.
I’m really convinced the iPod is one of the best inventions ever. We all have an iPod, we don’t say MP3-player, anymore. iPod is a standard, so I think it’s clear that Steve Jobs and his inventions changed many lives. For me he’s the God of the modern technology, and I hope Apple will be ‘Steve Jobs’ Apple’ in 10 years, and they surprise time after time, like Steve did.
Knowing I was one of the first to spread his death on twitter (for some Belgian followers),
I didn’t quite realised who’ve had lost.
A pioneer with a great charisma and the ability to make even the smallest update look like a huge change for mankind.
I didn’t even realise how much of the modern technology exists because of him.
Like he said in his 2005 Stanford Commencement Address, Windows wouldn’t be what it is today because of him.
They copied the Desktop idea and became one of the biggest companies in the world.
As for Apple, they had a different approach; besides introducing the MacBook, they invented the iPod.
The iPod is (in my opion) on of the greatest inventions of all time. Just because it’s simple and beautiful, I would even say perfect.
Another thing that I’ll never forget is Steve’s presentation at MacWorld 2008,
he presented the MacBook Air, in a way no one could ever do better.
Best thing about it was ‘how’ Steve presented it, simple and still perfect.
He pulled out the Mac Book Air out of an envelope, a tiny thin paper envelope…
Ofcourse there’s criticism saying Steve wasn’t God or something bigger than all of us.
But we have to at least thank him for a whole lot of things we use almost everyday
To take your company to the top, the Ten Commandments by Steve jobs:
1. You have nothing to lose.
2. Develop quality technology.
3. Do not live in time with others.
4. If there is no market, do it.
5. The expectation is not always achieved through advertising.
6. Do not take anything for granted.

At first I thought it was a hoax, cause I remember checking Twitter just before going to bed, and I saw this one person tweeting about the dead of Steve Jobs, but noone else. Also no trending about steve jobs’ death or whatever. Next morning I realised it wasn’t a prank of hoax.
Steve Jobs managed to create one of the top famous companies in this digital age, with products known all over the world.

I first saw the news on twitter the morning after… It was a shock I couldn’t believe the first moment.
It was amazing to see how many people were actually touched by Steve’s influence in the digital world. Those are the things you realise after he dies…
Also the speech he gave at the university was used at every news channel. The things Steve said in this speech are really things you should remember for the rest of your life. He knew what he wanted, he knew who he was and he knew how to make ‘the digital world a better place’.
I’m curious for what Apple will bring out the next couple of years. I’m afraid it won’t be the same anymore without Steve Jobs.

What I really liked about him was his perfectionism. I think this is why every Apple product was and is so user-friendly. During presentations, everyone could see he put is soul in each and every Apple product ever released. I cherish Steve Jobs. Rest In Peace Steve!

I think we where all shocked about this news. We all knew this day was comming but you never expect it. He has a unique person ( I loved how he’d gived his presentation in jeans). Alot of question came up in my mind. Who will be the new CEO? How will this sudden dead affect the Apple product, etc… Lets see how the future will look like. Sadly without Steve 😦

Thanks to this guy I have more than 7 000 R&B and Hip-Hop songs in my pocket when I go to school , on holiday, actually everywhere. Which other Mp3 player can do that and can stay charged for a long time?? I mean I still got the iPod Video from 4 years ago! When I got the MacBook Pro, I didn’t wanted to work with Microsoft anymore. Once you Mac you never go back! The MacBook Pro is very user-friendly, so easy to work with and the multi tasking is so fun. To me Apple is all about creating the best product for the people.
The world didn’t loose just a man, but an visionary and creative genius. A man that changed the world by his way, by doing what he could do best.

I don’t want to be harsh but didn’t we all see it comming, I,m even amazed he lived that long. Steve was a great man but as i read somewhere: Steve was not a god but he still was a great man, and I’m shure that one day I’ll read about him in a history book. don’t think this is going to be the end of revolutionary products by apple, but the next CEO will have some big shoes to fill.
I’m really not a mac fan so what i mean by that is that I don’t like “the computer”.
On the other hand I think the ipod is the best music player there is in the world, so I really respect the man for developing an ipod an ipad etc so i really like what he did there.
Although, I must say I think everything should be open source and the “i apps” aren’t so I prefer the andriod phone. But i still love the man for developing things like an ipod and programs such as itunes!! R.I.P.
The first way I heard about his death was on facebook, and I couldn’t believe it at all. I used to watch the conferentions Apple always gave to present their new products and he always seemed to impress me.
Anyway, I think we can say he surely impressed the industry with his products. Like the iPod , the iPhone and the macbook. Somehow the products give some kind of a special prestigue. Just because it’s different than anything else, and it works most of the time better.
The first time I heard about it was in the morning, I just woke up and got my laptop. When I opened safari the first thing I saw was (the now famous) picture with steve jobs, and his birthdate and 2011… I instantly new he had died, and felt sad.
Had had shaped the world like no-one did before (well maybe Einstein, Julius Caesar and a few others did too), and everyone in the world is somehow connected to an apple product.
Although I’m positive… His dead has given more strength to his words and speeches. And all of them were positive. He had so much to say, and he did say a lot in interviews, but somehow people didn’t notice it or weren’t interested. Now he became a even bigger “hype” (hate to use that word now”) and people start to live up more to his words.
Got to love the man! Got to love his ideas!
i learnd of steve’s dead on twitter , i immediately went to the apple site and there it was a big comment with the date of birth & death of steve jobs. Afterwards everybody on facebook started posting and on twitter the same thing , steve changed the life of so many people with his idea’s , it was a great man , en surely he’ll be rememberd not only as a great man but as a hero espcially for the once ho only use apple products
I didn’t know Steve before I started using Apple products.
However, as soon as I started, I also learned about Steve Jobs.
At first I was extremely sceptical about the whole Apple thing..after all the shit I’ve had with Windows I simply couldn’t believe that there would be something more convenient out there, seeing how the huge majority of the computer users have Windows.
I was finally convinced to use Mac and when I look back at that choice, it might have been one of my best ones over the past years!
It really won’t be the same thing without Steve.
As a big fan of Mac, I really hope they can continue at their pace and keep bringing us awesome innovative products that improve our digital world.
5 october 2011, a black day for all Apple lovers, and I am pretty sure, for all the Apple haters too. The loss of mister Jobs is a disaster for the contemporary digital culture. A man with an enormous influence in the digital world. I am wondering if the company Apple will stay the same without Jobs. The new CEO, Tim Cook, has a giant heritage on his shoulders, so now is the question: will he succeed in this complex assignment?
I really hope so because I love Apple. I have an iPad, iPod, MacBook Pro, … and I’m so glad I bought this products, it’s so usable, perfect designed, fresh content, …
We all love Apple and we all gonna miss Steve Jobs, without even knowing him in person.
“No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life. It is life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new.” This was a part of Steve Jobs’ commencement address to Stanford University graduates back in 2005. And he was right; nobody is able to cheat death. It shows once again that money is nothing, but health everything. However, was it the right time for Steve Jobs to go? Nobody knows. I just know that the world lost a visionary and one of the greatest innovators ever.
Although I knew that he was affected with cancer, I was quite shocked when I read that piece of news on Facebook for the first time. He was an icon, for me as well as for many other people on earth. The innovator of the iPhone, the iPod, the iPad or the MacBook – he simply stood for the brand Apple and has enriched many people’s lives with new technology products like this. He played a big part in contributing to the development of the digital world and made it become what it is today. May he rest in peace.

Most of my friends know/knew me as an apple-hater. but Just a couple of weeks ago I bought a iphone 4s. Why? I was so frustrated about my slow androidphones, that “risked” this big “step”. I’ve just got to be honest. This is/was the best thing I’ve ever bought (besides some other stuff). Steve Jobs, you did a good job!
I’m not an Apple-lover, but also not an Apple-hater. First I owned a Windows laptop and after that an iMac. I was happy with my iMac because it could do so much. But I had to admit an Apple is not suitable for gaming. That’s why I’m going to buy a very decent Windows Desktop for gaming only. This way I will have my laptop for school only, Desktop for gaming only and iMac for downloading stuff without risking viruses.
I’ve bought the book: Steve Jobs the biography, written by Walter Isaacson. I’ve started reading it but haven’t finished it yet. I should make work of that very soon.
I’m not an apple fan in particular. Although I own some of the products. I find it astonishing that the simplicity of the products only makes it one of the best user friendly product on the market. It’s all about a change on seeing things, something the other manufacturers of electronic devices stil don’t realise.
